Resumo

This poster aims to analyze discourses and counter-discourses articulated with local public opinion that is partly engendered inside the dialogic public sphere, like the city space and social networks.

A case study was selected, on the urban struggles occurred in 2013 at Portugal, against the austerity measures implemented by the Portuguese government to deal with the present European crisis. Such manifestations of local and semi-local public opinion, connected with global public opinion, often use ethical and aesthetical accountability strategies, sometimes innovative, for communication and critique inside the urban and virtual public sphere. An experimental mode of presentation of such matters is essayed here, named Sociological Comics, presented within a poster. This is a sociological experimental methodology that uses two parallel modes of hermeneutics embedded in its epistemic argumentation: social accounts and sociological accounts.

The discussion of this poster may be developed around the communicative and opinative phenomena underlying citizens’ cultural, artistic and political accountability, innovation and utopia, that can be applied to specific dialogic urban spaces and scapes like city squares and streets. Such modes of engagement may deconstruct and reconstruct citizens’ collective memory and archives.
